I have travelled on a jumpseat in Italy. If you get to talk to the Captain (not to check-in, not to Ops...), very often they take you on board (if you are a pilot or a C/A). Some airlines are more "hospitable" than others, and some airlines' employees are not welcome, if you know what I mean...
