787-9 weight and range.
A bit of background on the question. A United 787-9 departed Melbourne Australia today (LAX bound) after unloading about 3000kg of cargo and 15 Stby pax (leaving 25 empty seats). This was all due to "loading too much fuel".
I was under the impression that Los Angeles was well within reach at max weight and that MZFW would not have to be reduced if carrying full fuel.
Anyone help me out with this one?
