The original idea to privatise the federal airports was Keating's. During the process where much force was applied to "relocate" Jandakot, Brendon Grylls (WA nats) was keen on the idea and a party member who had just lost an election ran a "consulting" business that was taken on (and worked out of the offices of Jandakot Airport Holdings who wanted to develop the whole site) to "persuade" the local yokels it was a good idea. This man, Colin Holt, became a Nats Minister in the Barnett government. I'll never forget the day Holt came into my office and told me that "The new owners (his words) of Jandakot were closing it down so I was going to have to move out" and the years of angst that followed which Albanese presided over and allowed them to do whatever they wanted. So they are all as bad as each other.
