The Spitfire pilot showed gross contempt for procedures by not complying and flying at 50’ or so.

Yes, the hover-taxying Chinook should not have needed a mention, even if partly on/by the runway, IF the Spitfire was complying with normal procedures ... but he wasn't. That's why I bang on about controllers looking out of the bloody windows to actually see what's happening!!
