Carbon monoxide poisoning instead of a heart attack?
KCCI 8 News has learned that carbon monoxide poisoning contributed to the deaths of four Iowans in a small-plane crash in Guthrie County last Friday night.Passengers on the plane communicated they thought the pilot had a heart attack. A student pilot on the plane attempted a landing at the Guthrie County airport near Guthrie Center, but the plane fell off radar and wasn't found until daylight Saturday morning. The victims were identified as Edward Ralph Anderson, 49, who was the pilot, Patrick Kellen, 36, and Samantha Clark, 15, all of Le Mars, and Tyler Douvia, 28, of Merrill.According to the state medical examiner's office, all the victims died from "multiple blunt force injuries in the setting of carbon monoxide toxicity."A Guthrie County resident discovered the wreckage in a cow pasture southwest of the intersection of 265th Street and Maple Avenue. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating.

So it is possible the pilot was affected first and the passengers thought he had a heart attack and the student pilot was then affected causing him to crash instead of land the plane.

Any thoughts on this?
