I'm the person that publishes the notes they are talking about on ATPL Solutions. You can order a CD version of them from the website or a hard copy from me directly if you wish.
They are 230 pages long with nine sample papers including answers and references. You will need your own copy of the new AIP Vol 1.
I regularly update these, (last time at the beginning of the month) and use them all the time converting the ATPLs for all Air NZ's contract guys.

P.S. the guys are right, unless you think that you will have a need for an ATPL within 5 years, It might pay to wait before sitting the exam.
