A news article which i noticed on my phone tonight, Syd morning Herald, 15 November 2018, 3:54pm, (5 hours ago),
title: "The Irish are muscling in on our special US visa, so we've gone nuts".

From news article by Matthew Knott:

New York: Ireland is trying to muscle in on a special United States visa class that only Australians currently enjoy and has limited numbers.

A bipartisan bill before the US Congress threatens to open access to the prized E3 visa class to Irish workers, a prospect that has sparked an intense
lobbying campaign by Australia's ambassador to Washington, Joe, to block the move.

Story then continues in the next few paragraphs.

What does it mean?

It means that Irish nationals will be able to work for US regionals, same as the OZ pilots, if the legislation to expand the E3 scheme
to Irish, which is due for debate in the coming weeks.

Off topic, i read a few comments on the air pilot central forums, apparently Canadians can also now work for US regionals,
with a response from blogger, now Aussies and Canadians are here.
