I'm sure this won't happen, but some are speculating that Southampton will be affected by the recent Flybe financial performance with further cuts (already Manchester to Southampton has been cut in frequency). Surely Southampton is one of their most profitable hubs? If Flybe were to shut down completely Southampton would not be able to recover very fast.
Would Blue Islands take over both Channel island routes?
Perhaps Aer Lingus would step in to Dublin
KLM would need to expand frequency to Amsterdam
But what about UK domestic? Perhaps bmi regional could step in for services to Scotland and Northern Ireland? Loganair to Manchester?
Or, more interestingly perhaps easyJet would start services to Belfast, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Jersey? That would be interesting!!!
