10 years is a bit pessimistic! But yes, it is years, not months. When you join, the transfer lists are free for anyone to view. I've just had a look at the BRS (Capt) list and the person at the top has been waiting since mid 2017.
It is all very dynamic though, if they add an aircraft a lot of the list will disappear quickly. When Lyon first opened, there were 50+ people on the list for a base of 3 aircraft. It would have looked like a 10 or 15 year wait, but now, a few years later, it's empty.
