I have spoken to two pilots who had resigned and then had to retract their notice. As givemewings said, it is up to management to approve and for pilots then it should be up to CP-A or CP-B.
The general consensus seems to be that the company will have no issues, providing you have not 'rocked the boat', so to speak.
