That last line however being incorrect, JAR-VLA gets used quite often for higher performance microlights where a dedicated microlight code is deemed inappropriate. It's just that they are then still called microlights / ultralights / ULM / etc.

The early part of that definition is what defines a VLA, rather than necessarily that JAR-VLA was used in it's certification.
