Airport property or not, surely the airport/council/private land owner has a moral duty to ensure the safety of passengers and crew that fly above it. Merely stating a fact and it won’t be too long before the approach lights are totally engulfed!
While not on airport controlled land, the airport operator is responsible for maintaining the approach lights, which includes vegetation removal to ensure that they are visible to aircraft. The airport operator does have an access right to the land for maintenance purposes. I believe that the land is owned by Southampton City Council.
