It's so obvious ! Invest in airside,i e stands,taxiway,450 feetrunway extension,and promotion of the airport.
Two or three years ago Flybe had up to 10/11 based units at SOU which has now dropped to 6/7.
So stands shouldn't be an issue...
Taxiway - is there any evidence that this affecting airline ops i.e. causing delays? LTN has managed for years without a full length taxiway
Runway extension - there's a motorway at one end and a railway yard at the other, so where exactly without spending mega bucks?!
Promotion of the airport - the elephant in the room is that the airport attracts new airlines which then slip away or don't develop
