What this article fails to address is the fine print items in COS '18. Not only will your salary be lower and heavily dependent upon productivity, it will have many fewer pay points for all ranks that would normally increase your compensation annually throughout your career (with the exception of being an F/O for more than 14 years or S/O for more than 4). Your guaranteed days off will decrease, your positioning pay (as a passenger) will decrease to half of current rates, your annual leave entitlement will decrease, and your company retirement contribution will drop by 36% from current levels. Why that’d be the company of course. One way street.
So even if and when you approach the productivity ‘goals’ they can always throttle you back unilaterally to save money.
While keeping ya on reserve in case they really need ya.
