Two or three years ago Flybe had up to 10/11 based units at SOU which has now dropped to 6/7. In the end, you have to question why? Whilst we know the issues facing the airline in becoming profitable, unless the airport are willing to support sustainable and long term growth, it’s difficult to see why any airline would launch operations.
SOU is an attractive airport, it’s a large catchment area of relatively strong wealth. No reason it can’t prosper.
