A few years ago, Qantas refused to allow Brisbane Airport Corporation to charge a levy on passengers in/out of BNE to pay for the future parallel runway. Joyce said that you can’t force people to pay for something that they are not benefiting from - I think that was the only time that I agreed with anything that bully said.
And in the end, Qantas did come to the party. So as usual, it was all p*ss and wind by Mr Joyce. I believe it was actually a request for QF to directly contribute to the costs by an increase in landing fees then, in preference to higher fees when the runway was finished. How QF chose to absorb or pass that on was up to them, if they chose to accept the deal.

So that means QF can not put a dollar or two on a ticket, to save up to pay for new aircraft in the future? Yea right.
