Does my "Chinese" make sense now
Llivia has a very interesting history and has been part of Spain within France since 1659 and the Treaty of the Pyrenees. The location where this treaty was signed is 6 months French and 6 months Spanish. Very nice lunch as well.
I wrote earlier "it is a fairly (totally?) unique situation in Europe" - OK it isn't "totally" unique as I've discovered. There are a number of other enclaves in Europe where a bit of another country is totally surrounded by another European country. The daftest has to be BAARLE - Belgium in Netherlands - check
this site and the images of the town.
Did anyone here know about these anomalies? I didn't know about any of them.
