As someone who is actually Australian (unlike you I don’t refer to Australians as “they”) our standard of living is not dropping because of where our immigrants originate from. Any problems with our standards of living are not large comparatively and any that do exist are caused by poor infrastructure planning by our political leaders (who are overwhelmingly Australian born of Anglo European heritage btw). Don’t blame the “scary foreigners” for any problems you may have. Australia is, and will continue to be, a great multicultural society.
For the OP, yes there are job opportunities in Australia for experienced jet pilots but you definitely need Australian citizenship or residency, which will be your biggest hurdle. There is a limited opportunity to come here on a work visa but I’m not sure if that will be available to many or last for long. Gaining a position with a legacy carrier like LH is the ultimate goal in Aviation so for you to leave them it would be a big call but if you see your ultimate desire to be down here then that’s a price you’ll have to pay. Make sure it’s something you want for the long term.
