I seem to recall another, less impressive, attempt at a helo rescue on Mt. Hood several years back (~20 years ago IIRC).
Not a Chinook (memory says single main rotor) - however they crashed after the main rotor struck an outcrop...
Miraculously, as I recall no one was seriously hurt. Frightening video of the crash out there if someone cares to go looking.
