A non event really! I don’t have the exact facts but presume crew were aware that any protracted vectors and/or delays would have meant landing with less than alternate fuel, hence they informed ATC. Toronto has 5 runways so no real issues. This happens all the time in aviation and barely warrants breaking news, where crews decide based on information at hand that they simply commit to their destination and disregard their alternates!

non events like this just need one social media blast and then it's not good reading, especially for the torrid time Primerair has had so far in their TA start up and all they need now is for what some may view as safety critical stuff to be plastered around,
plus the HiFly 380 debacle going on now with Norwegian suffering huge delays with JFK not accepting the ULA aircraft as they are too busy its not a good summer for anyone in Lo-co Ops, or crewing nor pax handling - thankfully I am retired now - but beggars belief some of the things that have been going on....did no one think to ask first or imagine the consequences of using clapped out old equip ???
