Setting up cockpit for runway heading clr in a turbojet
I instruct cadets in asia. I m trying to teach them how to set up cockpit for this non standard clr.
1 - dont leave the SID in FMC
2 - check ur flight plan and choose the waypoint to be expected a) the ttansition fix b) 1st fix on your airway
3- set a VOR in standby nav for dme or active
4- set OBS on master control panel ( ref 737)
sadly 90% of the pilots in the country im in have never done it , dont do it and have no clue why to do it .
