As an editorial in The Australian had it last Wednesday, the next of kin of those who perished deserve a whole lot better.
Does our Julie Bishop (Foreign Minister) have the gumption to confront the denials of the Malaysian government? Can Australia put its diplomatic relations with Malaysia on the line and precipitate a fresh inquiry with terms of reference aimed at obliging the Malaysians to reveal all they know?
Here you have the commitment of a crime, because of its unique nature, unparalleled in history. Obviously, the Malaysians know a lot more than they are willing to reveal. The wheels of justice turn slowly, but they do turn. The wheels of a massive injustice, hidden behind smoke screens, will not turn at all without a mounting sense of outrage.
