Cost me about £650 in 1975/6 with about 40 hours dual and solo time in C150/152, ground exams, medical etc. Am guessing this might well be the equivalent of about £7,000 today. I sold my stamp collection to fund about half of it ! Flying has always kept me artificially poor …
But .. I no longer fly at all now and things are looking up financially at last, despite retirement
