Yep, Moruya is a great place for a day trip. In daylight saving especially take a picnic and park close to the Eastern boundary fence, climb through the barbed wire fence carefully and you're on the beach. A bit of surfing on a pretty nice beach with few others and think yourself lucky. Push off home around 1700 or so and you'll be home well prior EOD. Did it many times over the years.
