How can this be called automation addiction. This is lack of sufficient knowledge of automatic system operation and procedural violation of not monitoring the mode changes. Whether on AP or manual the scan to monitor the parameters and mode changes remains same. In manual one makes the changes as well as monitor the parameters with automation you monitor that automation is doing the required changes. Auto thrust is engaged does not relieve the pilot from monitoring the thrust and speed.
