Based on this, and other factors as well, I, as a US pilot, choose to take my talents elsewhere. CLEARLY I am not meant for any US major airline, even when they are so called "desperately" hiring pilots. So, why stay and beg?
No job is perfect. Proof is in me sitting in a US major jumpseat with a captain making 400k/year without trying and STILL bitching.
Right now, I have one interview with one of the ME-3, and another potentially coming up soon. I did my research, so I'm going with my eyes open.

Let the judgement begin ...
No judgment here, when I was stuck at the regionals with no end or upgrade in sight, I would have gone to EK in a heartbeat. I had an app with them, updated it regularly but never got past the "short list" even though I was, at least on paper, a very good candidate for them, based on what they were saying at the time. I certainly wasn't any kind of a longevity risk, there would have been nowhere to go. This was back when the gummers got their five-year gift from the FAA, so nobody was hiring.

My point is don't worry about what other think, do what works for you.
