Farnborough International aka SBAC spend an awful amount with the constructon of the buildings/exhibition halls/chalets but only pay for the extra display items on 'public' days; all the companies exhibiting their aircraft pay an awful amount for the privilege of doing so; if they want a chalet too, that's even more to pay.
Farnborough International get a huge amount of revenue from the exhibitors at the show. They will also charge all of the sales/concessions stands for their spots - any hint of extras/late working during build pulls in a charge.
They then man much of the show with "volunteers" on the pretence of offering a fantastic development opportunity, whilst they flounce around site in their new 4x4 liveried cars.
