Re: training and interview, most of this is unknown. By the end of the year, JC will no longer be an operator. All training and checking within Qantas. 50% of crew are already completely removed from the JC AOC operation. So, new recruits will be straight into Qantas (operationally speaking), and I don't think any decisions have been made how this will be facilitated.
Re: pay, the CA (EBA) should (hopefully) be sorted out by then. Nothing for certain, but it's looking like you'll be employed and paid from day one of the type rating. No money up front, and no unpaid period. This could all collapse, nothing is signed yet, but things are looking to improve significantly, as they should.
