Today I received an email "Unsuccessful submission for Reference 475-VB22516” ostensibly from ‘Gateway Confirmation’ (HMRC) asking me to click on a link
View submission… etc (I have not reproduced the link here). My attempts to forward it to
[email protected] have been stymied as there is something in the email preventing it being forwarded. Anyway, the link actually points to ‘
rapidfirebox1.xxx/notifications (replace the ‘1’ with ‘one’ and ‘xxx’ with ‘com’.) The senders address is
[email protected]at same .com as per the link.
Hovering over the links shows their true identity but apart from that the layout, colours, wording etc etc look to be very close to the real thing - but
AFAIK the genuine HMRC emails do not contain clickable links.
Email deleted, of course!
