It is probably just a typo, or the usual "knows it all" news reporter. VF has stated that climbers have to bring their crap back to base camp, and to a reporter any helicopter with a load under it must be "winching".

Actually the would be intrepid Mountaineers & their Sherpa's most bring all their rubbish down, basically everything they take up the Mountain, minus their excrement & dead Bodies (that stays for.......?)
