VA's days on the Tasman are numbered - it had been reported that 75% of there passengers on the Tasman we're flying on an ticket issued by NZ (rather than people booking directly with VA). NZ has already replaced pretty much every seat they have lost of lossing the VA flights, and even made AKL-SYD 5x daily 777 from the end of this year to cover the loss of VA.
Most likely VA will be gone from the New Zealand market within the next 12months - they now have no regional New Zealand feed.
