With the empty South China Sea and vastness of the Pacific Ocean ahead and almost out of radar cover, why turn back to overfly a densely populated peninsula where the aircraft was sure to be tracked on radar? I don’t claim to know the cause but, surely this turn weighs against criminal intent rather than “proving” it
