A bit of background here from a retired Helinut who lives locally at present. The council run this airfield at a thumping loss. Because of the limited traffic, the lack of people, the inflexible CAA rules and that they employ their own staff, with all the costs of LA employees. Given the current financial climate, I tentatively suggest we need to be grateful they have not closed it down.
You could, of course, run a non-licensed fuel stop purely for heles for much less, but that is not an airfield
Not much competition out here. If there was, I doubt the LA would keep running FE
