While the way it is written seems like it is for sure a new element of your pay scheme (which is why I brought it up in the first place), Although that is the natural conclusion to this logic, we should be getting 10 weeks extra in the May pay packet, I agree that it is a bit TOO coincidental. This whole thing smacks of the subterfuge a few years ago when we got our last "pay rise" of 1/2%. They combined the pittance of an increase with the step and with a few weasel-words made it sound like a "pay rise of 3.5%". Remember how we were all scratching our heads for days trying to decipher the mumbo-jumbo? They wanted us to believe it was step-plus-3.5% when in reality it was "step-plus 1/2%" I think it's a kind of management (bad) habit of trying to make a "nothing" sound like "something". I guess we will know when the contract adjustment letter is delivered.
That's why I started this thread with the "wishful thinking" disclaimer.
