Mark139: the wing-down style will keep the centre of the plane lined up with the centre of the runway. A crab needs a kick to align the plane just before the main wheels touch down.
Therein lies my problem. I seem to mistime the 'kick' - too early, trying to get it 'out of the way', get the thing lined up and continue floating: off to the left. Interesting that 'most others' drift off to the left too: I thought it was just me

Perhaps something to do with torque...
