Aerocom, I totally understand what you are talking about. While the media does have a job to do, I agree it could be done in a more sensitive way.
My father was killed in an accident 8 years ago. After the fact, we found out that before the police had even called on us, the story had been on the news, showing his distinctive work truck with license plate. My grandmother found out from that news bulletin with no one to be with her (as we hadn't known yet.) Yet another example of media rushing to get a story in.
On the topic, condolences to all families involved. Children too - what a tragedy.
Also, here in Perth, it seemed as though the pilot was mentioned as an afterthought. It gave the impression it was the 5 passengers and a pilot? Is this correct, or was the pilot one of the family?
