Apparently the French DGAC are getting a little miffed at the number of times SAR action is initiated due to the problems outlined above.
Therefore there is now a single phone number to call to close a flight plan in France, it is
08 10 43 78 37, a local rate number from anywhere in France.
You can obviously still use ATC as before etc, with the knowledge that the French really enjoy their lunches as always….
