Contrary to the comment above, I always found over many years there was a very small nucleus of dedicated, professional, competent and capable people in DCA, CAA and CASA who would always listen and try to help. Sadly they were surrounded by a sea of incompetence and vindictive complacency.
Since the 1980s, the sea of incompetence has risen to the top, leaving that small nucleus of very professional, competent and capable people frustrated. Many have already left CASA in despair.
By the late 1990s, in general the CASA people I was forced to deal with at all levels were operationally incompetent, deficient and vindictive and who set general aviation, flight training and rural air services in Australia back decades.
