Seriously, true experience is a combination of hours, sectors, relevant types and relevant areas of operation. You can have 15k+ pilots who have only ever flown 3 to 4 routes in the last 10 years. Also, the older gaffers tend to be poor to adapt to change (not all) and find type conversion difficult. I've met all too many of them. But really, some of them are my best friends
