Got an email from a buddy:
"I depart XXX on my last flight on the xx MMM.
Wife + daughter 1 and daughter 2
WILL be on the flight."
(Note: not
if they get on the fight! They all have confirmed First Class seats in both directions! And both daughters are in their mid-twenties but still get free seats.)
"I have been able to choose my cockpit and cabin crew so its going to be fun."

Apart from doing the last flight of his choosing, he was able to write his own roster for his last few months at the airline. Just as it should be after decades of loyalty and hard work! And he will land back home to a water salute by the local fire crews. What a way to end your career. In CX you just walk off the aircraft and go home like any other flight. No reception, no congratulations or farewell from anyone in the company. A rather dismal way to treat people.
I won't respond to the forum bullies, sewer rats and cockroaches who I am sure will take great delight is spewing their venom again. Peace people, and yes, there is a far more beautiful life beyond CX
