It is not worth it. if you are young, single and feel like a stallion every morning go for it. if you have a family forget it go somewhere else. ex. your kids go to an American system international school. you need a deposit of usd 64K (500000 hkg dollar) which is refundable for the duration of the stay of child at school, PLUS usd 3K per year membership fee PLUS USD 22K Kindergarten upto grade 5 PER YEAR per Kid.(Tuition fee) Grade 6 to grade 8 is Usd 24K (tuition fee) per year. what every they offer in the roadshow..not even going to cover schooling or housing in HKG.
you can have commuting contract, but doesn't include the airfare home(its all about the block days off, you make your own travel). ID90 with HKA.. you need to be a monkey...jump from department to department. then a maybe...NO UPGRADE BUSINESS CLASS SEATS for Capt or FO. you need to pay asmall sum for the privilege jumpseating forget it, with other airlines, near none existent. if you every have a chance goto the roadshow and ask about travelling etc, you get the deer in the headlamps look..
