I raised the comment with the crew of a now defunct airline and they told me that as long as they have made the announcement about being seated until the aircraft has come to a complete stop - they are covered against actions either by people like you mgahan or by injured pax.
How about taking responsibility as crew and having some concern for flight safety and the safety of the passengers!
