The silly little men had it tied up 'tight' to the jetty on a 'full tide', and then 'retired' into the very local 'tinny club'....completely unawares that the tide was dropping at an 'alarming' rate,
as it does up there, and the heavy fibreglass trawler, (the 'Reliant'), firmly lashed to said jetty, simply pulled the whole jetty into the creek...on top of said trawler...!!!

Took them months to raise it, dry it out, rebuild said jetty.....

So, I can imagine the scene......

It got worse at KI.
When aircraft was raised, with island police assistance, there was an unlicensed firearm on board.

Very sad bunch.

Aircraft was small, single engine amphib with engine pod over the fuselage.
Maybe a pusher. I forget what they were called.
