Most of the guys from training department are totaly incompetent to be professional pilots and not to mention instructors ( there are some really good exceptions, of course). Crew knowlegde is very poor generaly.
I have to strongly disagree with your comment regarding the training, when I did my linetraining my thoughts were that the guys are very experienced, know a lot and teach in a nice way. Cabin crew aswell, during the pre-flight briefs I never had the impression that people had poor knowledge. I think that flying with an experienced instructor is more rule than exception.
