A couple of years ago I was 12 hours late at my destination due to a missed connection at Dubai on Emirates. EK paid for B&B so I got a few hours sleep between flights and I got a full night of sleep at my destination instead of having to go to the office straight off the flight, so I consider it worked in my (but not necessarily my employers) favour. It never occurred to me that I might be entitled to compensation beyond the hotel and transfers EK provided in Dubai.
