Company. Let’s face it, moving to a foreign country is always
going to have its issues but if it’s doable, the Company isn’t entirely
corrupt and it has the potential to be an adventure, then is Kunming
on my list? (Wife will be with me .. son’s just left school so will come and go).

Basically everything I read here is right but it can be wrong, it depends on you and your sensibility. Most of pilots are going to China only for money, so for the life there you need to adapt yourself. It is the same about family, for sure it is not the best country to bring your family, but some people love it. My advise is to take time then choose the right company and the right base, according to you standards.
