As I recall you are supposed to put "EOBD" if the day isn't today, or the FPL falls off the system at midnight.
I've only ever faxed one in once, and that worked fine (but was to Heathrow). I usually phone my local friendly airfield (Sahfen') who put it in for me and add the clever stuff like EOBD and such.
