PSP Group Busting Unions (Again)

The PSP (Purchased Service Pilot) Group created in 2010 to break the FTA (Flight Training Aircraft) union affiliations; are once again Union Busting!

This time, the group are off to AVIANCA in Bogota, where in excess of 100 pilots have recently been terminated for their union involvement and another 100+ pilots are to follow.

The consequence of this is for AVIANCA’s management to recruit foreign B787 crews and the PSP pilots are expected on Brazilian soil in a few weeks (if not sooner).

These PSP 787 pilots, many of which have limited wide-body experience, will be flying with both union and non-union crews and will not be made welcome.

Currently, Colombian law states that no foreign pilots can operate Colombian registered aircraft unless in the capacity of line training. The PSP Groups first deployment to AVIANCA was approved by the Government as it was an introduction in to service of the B787; and, when the Colombian crews were trained, the PSP Group were no longer required.

Management of the PSP Group has gone from bad to worse.
