G'day albatross.....Yip know the stuff, we use RainX, even perspex polish or car polish works pretty good too! This wasn't my bird, was only a training flight. If I was gonna do more in that ship, I'd surely be applying that magic goop

Hoy there wcavuman1.....Been lucky I've never experienced any altitude issues, even when I'd run out of O2, or when stuck up there due weather
seen plenty a folks sick, seriously sick & die from AMS, HAPE & HACE.
I think Yoga, Pranayama (breathing exercises) Plant Based Whole Foods Vegan diet has helped me a lot
I don't believe Sherpa's have any unique high-altitude genes. If You were born at 10,000'+ worked hard everyday at those heights & much higher then, You too would be a super athlete at those same altitudes. There's no doubt anyone can achieve similar if they spent their entire life up there!
Yes Sherpa's are super powerful, amazingly fit & resilient, but only those that go outdoors & do that seriously high-altitude toiling. I know plenty Sherpa's who work inside offices that are unfit & unhealthy like their Western counterparts
They are great people & very hard working
High-Altitude survival tips: Stay away from Dairy (clogs the Lungs & Lymphatic system), consuming lots of Timmur (Szechuan pepper) helps build more red blood corpuscles which carries O2 & good old Garlic keeps the blood thin, don't smoke!
