A loner at a Gatbash??? No way! Consider lots of people are in the same position as you. Never saw anyone in a corner by him/herself. The problem is the opposite! Too many nice people to meet and too short a time!
Bring someone along if you think he/she is interested in the industry and pprune.
About the dressing code: there isn't any. Some dress up (especially ladies), some wear funny t-shirts, some (like Pprune Radar) show up in kilt and some dress like every day (but don't forget the Gatbash is held in a nice hotel).
